Collaboration with The Danish Music Museum of Instruments

The Danish Museum of musical instruments has several ancient instruments stored behind glass cabinets. We want the visitors to be able to touch and play replicas of such instruments using modern fabrication techniques and sound synthesis algorithms, as well as augmented reality.

This collaboration has resulted in several reconstructions of the instruments present in the museum, included a glass harmonica (figure above), a hurdy-gurdy, and a tromba marina.

Selected publications: Recreating an instrument inspired by the glass harmonica using fabrication techniques and physical models, Tromba moderna: A digitally augmented medieval instrument
