Together with Federico Avanzini (University of Padova) and Michele Geronazzo (University of Verona), members of the Multisensory Experience Lab will be organizing the 3rd workshop on Sonic Interaction in Virtual Environments (SIVE) at this year’s IEEE VR conference. Hope to see you in LA!
Niels Christian Nilsson, Rolf Nordahl, and Stefania Serafin recently published a paper on different views of immersion and their relation to theories of presence in Human Technology. The paper can be accessed via the following link:
Last week Niels Christian Nilsson presented a paper at this year’s VRST conference in Munich. The paper entitled Missing The Point: An Exploration of How to Guide Users’ Attention During Cinematic Virtual Reality is co-authored by Stefania Serafin and Rolf Nordahl and is based on work of Medialogy master students Lasse Nielsen, Matias Møller, Sune Hartmeyer, and Troels Ljung.
On November 1st Rolf Nordahl, Lui Thomsen and Stefania Serafin from the Multisensory Experience Lab participated to a VR /AR event in the library in Vejle. The event had two talks in the morning and demoes in the afternoon.
The talks were given by our own Rolf Nordahl who introduced VR and the different activities of the lab and Jesper Mosegaard from the Alexandra Institute.
What was particularly nice is that lately many VR talks are given by people who feel like pioneers just because they backed the Oculus few years ago in Kickstarter. Jesper instead has been working with VR before it became mainstream, and has a very strong background in computer science and visualization. Very interesting to hear about his research at Alexandra Institute.
